Dollhouse more substantial than Barbie’s grandfather builds granddaughter’s dream house

Joe Tomasello is building a 3-story Beacon Hill replica doll house for his 13-year old granddaughter Samantha O'Connell, similar to the one he built nearly 30 years ago for her mother Laurel. Tomasello is seen here next to his latest creation, inside the family's Collierville home on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.

About 30 yrs back Joseph Tomasello constructed his daughter a blue dollhouse, now he’s back to building, making a much larger far more comprehensive one for his 13-year-old granddaughter.

“It truly is close to being a actual residence, just a small compact,” reported Tomasello, 74.

The new 3-tale project, a reproduction of a Beacon Hill house native to Boston, stands at more than 3-ft-significant with seven rooms, a winding staircase, hallways, a kitchen and bathrooms which Tomasello and his granddaughter Samantha O’Connell created alongside one another.

“The a single he developed for my mom when she was more youthful, I do not know why but I favored it a lot,” O’Connell claimed. “So I asked him to make me 1 as well. A even bigger a person.”

The original dollhouse created for Laurel O’Connell sits in a room in Tomasello’s Collierville home completely ready for his granddaughter to play with when she visits.
