doTERRA Review: How Kosher Is This Company?

0

Let’s begin with a little history about the company. The company name ‘doTERRA’ is a Latin-derived word meaning “Gift of the Earth”. It was founded in April 2008 by a group of six executives. The doTERRA executives do not have an exit strategy. The company has been in positive cash flow since July 2008.

doTERRA makes a bold claim to be the only company in the world to have produced CPTG (Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade) essential oils. Unlike other competing companies that sell essential oils, doTERRA guarantees theirs as pure, safe, potent, and tested.

What exactly are CPTG essential oils?

In essence they are the highest possible grade of essential oils available on the market today. Firstly they are PURE, meaning that they are 100% natural, with no artificial ingredients, fragrances, or fillers. Secondly they are SAFE, meaning that they are certified to be free of pesticides and other chemical residues. Thirdly they are POTENT, meaning that they have been produced with standardized active compounds. Forth and finally they are TESTED by independent laboratories, and not by in-house staff or vendors.

What makes this network marketing company special?

I have personally been involved in the network marketing industry for the past 7 years and have never seen a company with such a high retention rate as doTERRA. Approximately 65-70% of all new IPCs (Independent Product Consultants) stay with the company. This statistic is three times the national average for network marketing companies.

Now the reason I would say they have such a high retention rate is 3-fold as follows:

  • The cost of membership is very low and there are no on-going fees.
  • The company has a Loyalty Rewards Program where having a certain amount of purchases a month will result in an increasing cash-back over time. In other words, if a new IPC is getting around 30% off the retail prices already, come so many months later they will get an additional 30% off their purchases. That’s 60% off the retail prices just for staying with company and buying the products used.
  • DoTERRA runs a promotion practically every month. In fact they have just introduced a special products club where loyal customers get a free “product of the month” in addition to their monthly order.

Is doTERRA a kosher company?

There are three things to look for when identifying a legit opportunity to an illegal one. First of all, doTERRA is operating as a legal network marketing company. There is no debate here because network marketing itself is a proven-legal industry by the US Federal government in 1979. The next two paragraphs will determine the ethics behind doTERRA.

The second reason why doTERRA is a kosher business is that initial money spent on becoming an IPC does not go to the immediate upline. It gets paid to the company as a kind of administrative fee that also gives you access to your very own replicated website that people can buy from. This is an important point because they are so many network marketing companies out there with far too much emphasis on the signing up of new distributors for the up-line’s immediate benefit. This would generally be an unethical practice spoiling the company’s reputation. However, doTERRA is a firm company with a solid foundation. It was built and is run on a daily basis with honesty and integrity.

Third and foremost we find that doTERRA has a modern compensation plan. There is no emphasis on “recruit, recruit, recruit” new IPCs. In fact, I have never found such an ethical network marketing business like this one until now. The reason being that the products actually work, and work fast! There are regular training webinars. There is no one screaming and shouting out you to go out and find new distributors.

Final Words…

doTERRA has one of the best compensation plans in the industry which rewards your productivity thoroughly. So if you do nothing, you get nothing. If you do a little, you get a little. If you do a lot, you get a lot, and so on.

The problem with doTERRA and 97% of kosher network marketing companies out there is not their products but how they teach to go about finding new distributors to build your business. They generally teach the “old school” paradigm of essentially harassing friends and family from one’s ‘warm list’.

The question is, why target people that were never interested in the first place. Why waste your time? There has to be a better way and I’m glad you asked because there is. It’s called attraction marketing which means we want pre-qualified leads coming to us primarily instead of us going out like headless chickens searching for them.

So when you’re ready to learn the “new school” methods, you’ll need an experienced leader like myself to show you through the process. Then and only then will your doTERRA business really take off when prospects start coming to you.
