How we transformed a simple bedroom into a luxe parent’s retreat

We took the Surround by Laminex panelling right up to the ceiling, and selected a soft, warm grey palette. Yes, you can paint these panels in situ with a roller – but we find for best results it’s a good idea to pre-paint one coat before installation, and then do a second coat once they’re on the walls (a thick, fluffy roller works great on these panels).

After the panelling was installed and painted, it was time to turn our attention to the window treatment and furnishings. We introduced a sheer curtain in silvery grey (Warwick Fabrics ‘Aesop’ sheer linen in ‘Smoke’), to soften the window frame and bring an additional layer of texture into the space. We were lucky enough to have this curtain custom made by Zenn Design – ensuring the perfect size and gathering. Don’t forget – curtains should always skim the floor!

And finally, we introduced a few new furniture pieces to really elevate the styling in this space. The Orson Round Buffet by Globewest was the perfect fit here – its curved design complements the curves in our demi-round wall panelling, and the boucle tub chair (also by Globewest) adds the perfect luxe finishing touch.

And that’s it – a simple transformation, that really does completely change the atmosphere in this space!
